See how old meets new in this unique tour of Modern Dubai. Follow your expert guide in a small group around the trendiest spots of Dubai including Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residences and Bluewaters Island. Mr Sameh, one of our local guides, says, ‘amongst the futuristic skyscrapers, stylish restaurants and Dubai Can water fountains, you’ll also discover Dubai’s culture and traditions. We’ll stop at the mosque, see artisan shops and try Arabic snacks in a local restaurant.’
Kick start your tour at the Marina Promenade. Enjoy the relaxed vibe of this waterfront area that’s lined with impressive ultra-modern skyscrapers. ‘Tilt your heads up to see Cayan Tower, known as the Twisting Tower because it ‘twists’ at a 90-degree angle’, says Mr Sameh. Arabic and Islamic culture are embedded in this modern area of the city, which you’ll learn about at the Mohammad Bin Ahmed Al Mulla mosque. Up next, hop on a tram to The Walk, a buzzing beachside boulevard by the Jumeirah Beach Residences.
Admire vibrant colours and smells wafting from Arabic perfume and textile shops. Walking is hungry work so there'll be a pit stop at a local restaurant to try a traditional Arabic snack – falafel, shawarma or samosa. From here, cross the pedestrian bridge over the Arabian Gulf’s emerald waters to arrive at Bluewaters Island. This luxurious man-made island is the perfect place to end the tour as you take in views of the beautiful Marina skyline and the world’s largest observation wheel – the Ain Dubai.
