Things to do in Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery
Looking to add a dash of history to your Majorca beach holiday? The Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery , in the village of Valldemossa, is just the ticket. This 14th century monastery started off as a palace the kings of Majorca could call home. In the 1400s, it was then converted into the place of worship we know it as today. During your visit, you can explore almost all the grounds, which include a church, a library and plenty of well-kept gardens – top tip, head to the outer courtyards for the best views of the surrounding countryside. The charterhouse also has its own museum, where you can learn about Majorca’s past and all the different famous historical faces that were here at one time or another.

Reviews Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery
“This excursion was miss sold. I expected a guided tour of the cathedral and Valdamossa. But I ended up paying for admission to the cathedral and did not go to Valdamossa, so £74 is very expensive for a trip to Palma. I could have taken a public bus cheaper”
“This trip is not for family with childrens. All was so quickly. No time for dinner, no time for seeing. No time for all. Bad for us. The trip was money wasted.”
“Bus was 20mins late. Then when we got to Palma we had to wait around for our English tour guide. When Victoria finally turn up she then started tell the group she had come with where they should go. The cathedral was lovely then we went to the old town and had free time. Unless you know where your going it's ok if not you are walking round in circles”
