Things to do in United States Capitol
The United States Capitol is one of the most recognisable landmarks in Washington, D.C. It is where the US Congress meets and is home to the House of Representatives and the Senate. Originally completed in 1800, the building is located on Capitol Hill on the eastern end of Pennsylvania Avenue.
During the War of 1812, the US Capitol was nearly burned to the ground after the Brits had invaded the capital. Five years later, the building was restored and received a massive extension. It wasn't until 1850 that the iconic dome was added to the US Capitol building.
Explore this historical American landmark on a guided tour and learn about the foundation of the government in the United States. Discover different famous rooms throughout the building, such as the Crypt, the National Statuary Hall, and the Rotunda.
Nearby you can find the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress. It remains one of the most important and architecturally striking buildings in the nation. Today it stands as a monument to the American people and their government.
The United States Capitol is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Inauguration Day. Book your tours in advance so you don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Reviews United States Capitol
“Tolle Führung, sehr viele Informationen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen!”
“Brittany and Calvin were both great. Excellent way to see the highlights of DC with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Well worth the time and money!”
“This was just the BEST! My son and I did the open top bus and riverboat day tour in DC. Our personal tour guide (Danielle I think) was very knowledgeable and taught us fun facts. They provided cold water for us. It rained later in the day and they even had ponchos. I highly recommend.”
